• Presentation Pack and it's contents. This is the only instance when the Post Office used red ink to cancel covers. The regular covers were canceled with black ink, unless a collector brought his own ink pad to the Post Office. That explains why there are red, blue, green and purple cancelations on the general covers. These were made in limited numbers and were presented to individuals. The pack did not include a FDC of the SS. The folder has a thick plastic cover that was created for it.

Additional: Japan issued four stamps on 12 April 02 to commemorate their relations with four South Asian countries namely, Bangladesh, India, Pakistan & Sri Lanka. The design of all the stamps feature the ruins of the Buddhist Temple at Bahawolpur (Pakistan). A few Bangladesh covers exist with both the Bangladesh and Japanese stamps on them.

Additional: All of the covers were printed with an English spelling error - "proverty", that was hand corrected by using a white substance to paint out the first "r", making it "p overty". Three varieties of the cover exist:
1. Mispelling with no correction.
2. "r" painted out. These were distrubuted to all post offices in the country.
3. Reprinted envelope with correct spelling. The font used is different from the previous two. These corrected envelopes were presented to officials.

• After printing the envelopes for the National Resources in Poverty Alleviation stamp (27 April, 2002), it was discovered that "Poverty" was not spelled correctly in English, at the bottom of the envelopes. It had been spelled "Proverty", with an "r" after the first letter. Very few covers were cancelled with this visible error in spelling.

• The cover on the top has the "r" painted out. This is the standard cover that most collectors have, and is very common. The cover below it has the correct spelling as a small quantity were reprinted for the covers presented to officials. Also, the English is darker and smaller than the other envelope. Try to find these varieties while you can as in the future they will be very difficult to locate.

• The above drawing of a proposed design states "Last Day of Submission of Design/12 May 02 in English.

• Rejected drawings for the proposed stamps. The drawings on the left and the right are actually much brighter. It is the overlaid paper with the inked in   values that is dark the cancellation is that of the FDC for the 31 May 2003 issue. Below is one of those items that poses great confusion for many collectors.  The circular cover is very attractive but has the stamp, from a two stamp set from 10 June 1998, but the FDC cancellation of the 31 May 2002 stamp.

• The above cover was mailed to an Indian dealer one day before the stamp was issued. The date on the cover is 30 May 2002.

• Four proposed designs for the cancellation of the FIFA stamps. The design in the upper right corner was the one selected.

• The red color is shifted upwards in the cachet. It is noticible in the writing at the bottom, above the head and arms of the person and at the top of the trees.

• At the top the stamp on the left is a genuine stamp, but the stamp on the right is a forgery and was purchased at the same time as the stamps used on the cover illustrated below. Notice the poor quality of the perforations. This illustration was taken of one stamp from a vertical strip of five. The lower image is of the same stamps from the back. Notice the poor quality of the perforations. All of the forgeries of genuinely issued stamps were made to be sold and used as postage, they were not made to sell to collectors.

• This cover bears five forged copies of the Tk.10 stamps. In a sense it is a "philatelic" cover as it was known that the stamps were forged. The cover was sent to document the existence of the stamps.

Additional: Evidently the cancellation prepared for all the cities had an error in the English spelling. The cancellation read "FISH FORTNIGTH", rather than the correct "FISH FORTNIGHT". The set of covers were prepared for the dignitaries, as is usual, and the Dhaka error is found in that group. Later, only the Dhaka cancellation was corrected. All others have the misspelling,

Additional: It is believed that these stamps were printed two years previously but were not issued at the time. The stamps were issued without notice and no FDCs nor inserts were made available. It is rumored that FDC envelopes and the inserts exist but are being held by the Postal Department. However, some envelopes made it to the philatelic market and bear the set of stamps. The postmark is a generic, small circular one used for regular mail and is in Bengali, except the date. An unknown quantity of the one stamp portraying boys was overprinted for the 25th Anniversary of the Bangladesh National Philatelic Association and released on 31 May, 2004.

• Two rejected designs for the two Rural Games stamps. The images are much brighter but have a semi-transparent piece of paper over the front with the values, etc. drawn on it.

• This set of stamps was issued on 10 November 2002 with no advance notice. At the time no FDC envelopes, nor inserts, were released. It was rumored that the two stamps were printed two years previously but not issued. It was also rumored that both envelopes and inserts had been printed but were not made available to the public. Evidently a few envelopes made it to the philatelic market and covers were prepared and cancelled with a generic cancelling device. The cover above is an official envelope and has the Bangladesh P.O. logo on the back flap. Evidently a commemorative postmark was created, but not made available to the public. This postmark is illustrated above on a government printed envelope as well. On 31 May, 2004 one value of the set (The stamp on the right with boys) was overprinted for the 25th Anniversary of the Bangladesh National Philatelic Association.
