• The center colors of the 28 February, 1974 First Census set of three stamps. To make it a complete set of progressive proofs I would need the orange colors for the map and the different shades of each of the three colors here, that make up the frame.

• Two Copernicus First Day Covers with different postmarks. The lower one is a privately produced generic cachet that reads, "BANGLADESH" FDC.

• A proposed and unaccepted design of the 25p Copernicus stamp, prepared by Bradbury Wilkinson & Co., Ltd., of London, England. The red color is on clear plastic with all other colors on the paper below it.

25 Sep. - Bangladesh in UNO

• A privately produced cover posted at the UN on September 17, 1974, the date that Bangladesh was admitted to the United Nations.

• Red printing shifted downward. Noticeable at the bottom and on the band around the UN building in the center of the stamp.

9 Oct. - UPU Centenary

• Genrally missing from the set of four stamps for the Universal Postal Union (UPU) Centenary is the 25p value. This value is the most expensive of the group. The reason most collectors do not have this value was that Mr. Mondal, the Indian dealer who faked many covers during the War of Liberation, came to Bangladesh and purchased as many of the imperforate stamps as he could. He then sold the three values and withheld the one value. Later he offered the one value at a very high price and collectors could not complete the set. In terms of the number of stamps of this value, it is probably equal to the others, but the price has made it impossible for most collector to purchase it. This set was issued on October 9, 1974. Always collect imperf. stamps in margin singles, or in pairs to make certain they are not single stamps cut from the souvenir sheet.

• Privately produced generic cachet for the set of stamps. See 31 December for the same cachet for the souvenir sheet. The cancellation used on the cover is the standard First Day of Issue cancellor that people could use in the Philatelic Bureau to cancel FDCs. Both the Commemorative cancellation for the issue and this one can be found. The more desirable one is the commemorative cancellation, but it is not necessarily worth more money.
